How does phosphate threaten the lives of kidney patients?

The German magazine "Abutiken Omshaw" indicated that kidney patients are unable to remove excessive amounts of phosphate from the body. This poses a danger to their lives.

It explains that the problem is not usually due to the amount of natural phosphate present in meat and vegetable protein, because the body only absorbs between 50 - 80% of these substances. However, the problem is due to manufactured phosphate added to fast foods, sausages and confectionery which is 100% absorbed by the body.

Those who desire to lower the amount of phosphate should purchase organic foods for its content of E341 phosphate or the more regularly used in traditional products: E338 to E343 and E450 to E452.

It is to be noted that in a case where the kidneys are unable to process phosphate, it will remain in the blood and draw out calcium from bone, and cause changes to the inner wall of blood vessels. This leads to an increase in probability of heart attacks and strokes.
